This Privacy Policy describes how Splitta ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our bill-splitting app. By using the Splitta app, you agree to the terms described below.

1. Data Collection and Processing

Receipt Processing

When you scan or upload a receipt image, Splitta processes this data to extract bill information and enable bill splitting functionality. Here's exactly what happens:

What we process:

• Receipt images containing restaurant names, menu items, prices, dates, and payment information
• Text extracted from receipts (including merchant names, item names, prices, taxes, tips)

How we process it:

• Receipt images are sent securely to our processing servers for text extraction and data parsing
• We use third-party AI services (OpenAI, Google Vision API) to analyze receipt content
• Processing typically takes 10-30 seconds, after which the original image and extracted text are automatically deleted from our servers

What we DON'T store:

• We do not permanently store receipt images or extracted text data on our servers
• We do not store personal payment information (full credit card numbers, etc.)
• We do not create user accounts or profiles
